A camera on your own network.
LocalSentry turns a phone, tablet or computer into a camera. Watch live from another device on the same Wi-Fi β encrypted all the way, with no cloud and no accounts.
Also for iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux

For the sleeping baby, the pet, the 3D printer or the front door.
Built so you can trust it
Local and private
The picture goes straight between your devices. No cloud, no accounts, no tracking.
Pairing with symbols
You compare six symbols once. After that, both devices know who they are talking to.
Alarms when something goes wrong
If the connection drops or the picture freezes, you find out right away and clearly.
Up to four cameras
Connect several cameras to one viewer. Swipe between them or see them all at once.
How it works
- 1
Open it on two devices
One becomes the camera, the other watches. Both need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
- 2
Compare the symbols
The same six symbols appear on both screens. If they match, you know nobody else has connected in between.
- 3
Watch
Picture and sound go straight between the devices. You get an alarm if anything breaks.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The devices only need to be on the same Wi-Fi. If you have no Wi-Fi, it is enough for one of the phones to share a hotspot.
Does it cost anything?
No. LocalSentry is free and open source under Apache-2.0. No ads and no in-app purchases.
What happens to the picture?
It goes straight from the camera to the viewer, encrypted all the way. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent to a server.
